Ibn-Alhaytham Pharma presented a lecture titled "Understanding the difference between Clopidogrel and Prasugrel" on Saturday evening 12/3/2011 at Sheraton Hotel in Aleppo.The lecturer was Dr.Hassan El-Tamimi "A cardiologist and Chairman of Scientific Committee at Al-Basel hospital (Ibn – Roshed) in Aleppo". The lecture was attended by Many cardiologists and internists from Aleppo , Edleb and East Region in addition to a group of resident doctors in educational hospitals.

The lecture lasted 60 minutes , in which the lecturer addressed the role of platelets in hemostasis and the improvement in treatments of platelets aggregations.He also tackled the most important problems which occur when using Clopidogrel drug especially the difference of Pharmacological effect referred to the resistance of this drug ,Due to genetic mutations in hepatic enzymes and its clinical results on patients treated with coronary angioplasty.

In addition to the mentioned above, the lecturer also reviewed the results of " TRITON " and " PRINCIPLE " Studies that compared the treatment by Clopidogrel and Prasugrel for patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome . The lecture , concluded that , the treatment by Prasugrel achieved more efficacy in reducing cardiovascular events for patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome than the traditional treatment with Clopidogrel , while achievement of greater Stability and rapid onset of action of platelet inhibition.

The lecture was followed by significant scientific debate about the indications of treatment by Prasugrel and its results in cardiovascular indications.The discussion lasted about 30 minutes. Ibn – alhaytham Pharma recently launched Prasugrel in the Syrian Market according to an economic price , as part of its quest to keep up with the latest medical developments worldwide which will improve the reality of practicing medicine in Syria and raise the proper treatment for patients.
